Aaron Swartz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aaron Swartz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Swartz's actions were subsequently investigated by the FBI.[39][40] The case was closed after two months with no charges filed.[40] Swartz learned the details of the investigation as a result of filing a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FBI and described their response as the "usual mess of confusions that shows the FBI’s lack of sense of humor."[40] PACER still charges per page, but customers using Firefox have the option of donating documents into the public domain with a plug-in called RECAP.[40]

Aaron Swartz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "After reading Malamud’s call for action,[39] Swartz visited the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals library in Chicago and installed a Perl computer script.[40] From September 4–20, 2008, it accessed approximately 18,000,000 documents and uploaded them to a cloud computing service.[40] He donated the documents, amounting to 19,856,160 pages, to Malamud's public.resource.org.[40]
On September 29, 2008,[39] the GPO suspended the free trial, "pending an evaluation" of the program"

Ghettos

Ghettos: "The term "ghetto" originated from the name of the Jewish quarter in Venice, established in 1516, in which the Venetian authorities compelled the city's Jews to live. Various officials, ranging from local municipal authorities to the Austrian Emperor Charles V, ordered the creation of ghettos for Jews in Frankfurt, Rome, Prague, and other cities in the 16th and 17th centuries."

ScienceDirect.com - Developmental Biology - At most three ES cells contribute to the somatic lineages of chimeric mice and of mice produced by ES-tetraploid complementation

ScienceDirect.com - Developmental Biology - At most three ES cells contribute to the somatic lineages of chimeric mice and of mice produced by ES-tetraploid complementation: "Classical experiments in the 1970s were undertaken to determine how many cells in the mouse embryo are set aside at the time of allocation to form a given lineage. The predominant method to determine the number of founder cells was the generation of chimeric mice by aggregation of preimplantation mouse embryos carrying different genetic markers. Based upon binomial or trinomial calculations, the contribution of the parental genotypes to the chimeras leads to the conclusion that the epiblast lineage is formed by a minimum of three founder cells"

Taylor & Francis Online :: Sixteen Days? A Reply to B. Smith and B. Brogaard on the Beginning of Human Individuals - Journal of Medicine and Philosophy - Volume 31, Issue 2: "heir interpretative claim that a zygote divides immediately into two substances and therefore ceases to exist is highly implausible by their own standards, and their factual claim that there is no communication between the blastomeres has to be abandoned in light of recent embryological research."

Taylor & Francis Online :: Sixteen Days - Journal of Medicine and Philosophy - Volume 28, Issue 1: "When does a human being begin to exist? We argue that it is possible, through a combination of biological fact and philosophical analysis, to provide a definitive answer to this question. We lay down a set of conditions for being a human being, and we determine when, in the course of normal fetal development, these conditions are first satisfied. Issues dealt with along the way include: modes of substance-formation, twinning, the nature of the intra-uterine environment, and the nature of the relation between fetus and mother (connection, parthood, dependence)."

Google Answers: Totipotent cell count in human zygotes

Google Answers: Totipotent cell count in human zygotes: "trophectoderm which produces the chorion and
the cells of the inner cell mass which will give rise to the embryo.
This is the first differentiation event. So, at this point, no cells
are left totipotent. However the ICM cells are pluripotent and able
to form ever cell in the body. the ICM consists of approximately 13
cells by the 64 cell stage."
